Pre-requisites

  • You must have completed the Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010 version of the course, Introduction to Computers.

  • Program: Your computer must have Microsoft Word 2007 or newer installed on it.

  • Operating System: The course can be successfully completed by users of Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP, but only if they have Microsoft Word 2007 or newer.

The Computing Skills course

"Computing Skills" is a prerequisite for all other courses available at SeniorNet.
You will begin by reviewing the skills of writing and editing that you encountered in the first course, Introduction to Computers, and then extend your knowledge from that point.

The skills are practised by creating and formatting documents based on the activities detailed in the manual.

During the course you will write documents and save them to use for further practice at home or at the next lesson.

You will need to use a USB Flash Drive (also called a memory stick or pen drive) on which to store and transport your documents.
