Duration and cost

  • The group will meet weekly at the assigned time for as much of the term as the Convenor and the group members decide to do so.

  • The attendance fee for each weekly session is $2, payable on each occasion you attend.
There is no need to enrol formally for the group.

Prerequisites

If you are a member of the Tauranga SeniorNet Club you are welcome to attend any of the group's sessions.

You will gain most from the activities if you are able to:
  • Use your digital camera to take photos
  • Transfer the images from the camera to a computer
  • Use photo editing programs to view and to do basic editing of pictures
These basic skills will not be taught during the Group sessions as they are part of the existing courses on Photo and Image Editing.

Group Activities

The activities of the group will be decided by the convenor and the members as the term progresses.

The intention is that members will be involved in a range of image enhancement projects that are aimed to extend skills and understanding beyond those of the existing courses.

Members will be encouraged to share their own knowledge with each other.

Usage of software other than those currently used during Club courses may be introduced and their features explored.

What programs are used during the sessions?

The currently used Freeware programs are installed on Club computers and will be available to group members.
  • FastStone Image Viewer and PhotoFiltre are used the Level One course.

  • Paint.NET is used for the Level Two course.

Other special purpose programs may be introduced during the term.
Commercial image editing programs may be demonstrated where members have them on their laptops and are willing to share their experience.
