There are 4 two-hour lessons. The cost of the course, including the manual, is $55.00

Prerequisite

You must have completed the courses: Introduction to Computers and either Computing Skills or Word Processing.

The program Microsoft Internet Explorer

We use the web browser "Internet Explorer" because it is the program that is installed on most of the computers used by our members. Important: Internet Explorer 8 requires a Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer which has received its regular on-line updates. Internet Explorer 9 will not run on Windows XP computers.

Here's what you will learn and practise

Log on to websites. Navigate through websites. Set up a Favorites list for easy access to web sites that you wish to visit again. Change your Home Page. Use the History list to locate recently visited web pages. Save text and graphics from web pages so that you can see them again without connecting up to the internet. Download files from websites – such as pictures, music or software. Explore Internet Banking and Internet Shopping websites. Read newspapers from around the world. Use a Search Engine to locate information on the internet.
