How to use Spread 32
Spread 32 functions just like Excel. The major difference is the small number of Menu headings and the small number of buttons on the Toolbar. That's not a problem because almost all the functions are present in menu items or in context-sensitive right-click menus that are available in most situations. To Enter Data click in the cell and start typing. The text will appear in the Edit panel below the Toolbar, and will not appear in the cell until you move to another cell by pressing Enter, or an Arrow Key, or click in another cell. To Edit the contents of a cell click in the cell and make the alterations in the Edit panel. The changes will appear when you move another cell (as above). To Write a Comment that is fastened to a cell, click in the cell, select Insert » Comment, and type the comment in the text box that opens. When you click outside the text box, it disappears and is replaced by a red triangle in the top-right of the cell. To View a Comment rest the mouse pointer on the red triangle and hold down the mouse button. To Edit a Comment click in the cell, and click on Insert » Edit Comment. Then edit the contents of the text box. When finished, click outside the text box. To Delete a Comment click in the cell, and click on Edit » Clear » Comments. To Name or Rename a Worksheet make the sheet the active one by clicking on its tab (bottom). Then select Format » Sheet » Rename. Make changes in the Sheet Name dialog box, and click OK. To switch between Worksheets in a Workbook, click on the tab of the required sheet. If the tab is not visible, use the scroll arrows (bottom-left) to move the tabs sideways until you can see the one you want. Alternatively, double-click on a tab to display the names of all available sheets. Then click on the name you require. To Switch between Workbooks when two or more are open, select File » Window and click on the name of the Workbook you require. To open a recently used file select File » Recent and click on the name of the Workbook required. If you are working with a USB Flash Drive or a floppy disk you will only be able to access recently used files if they were saved onto the same removable media, or you are using the same computer as when the files were last edited.
